Time Flies

It's about an hour before I turn 28 and my head is spinning. I moved here right before I turned 18. I cannot believe 10 years have passed since high school. As a matter of a fact, if I were still in high school, I would see myself as old. I still feel 18. I have a house, a husband, a job, a car, a dog etc, but I still don't see myself as someone that may be considered old by anyone. Crazy. Time truely does keep on flying by.

I made partner!

Today I became a business partner with my used to be boss Brian Gaffney. We are alike in so many ways and have worked closely together for the last 2 1/2 years. We are both going to go back to real estate school to get our brokers licenses. The goal is to start our own small brokerage and hire agents to work under us. We will train them and give them leads. We are hard workers and hungry for new deals to close. That's who we want to hire. Anyone who is hungry, youthful, and smart. I'm guessing we will have 5-10 good agents by the new year. We already decided on the name of the business; FORBES REALTY. I really am so excited. Hard work certainly pays off, and the sky is the limit. I'm finally ready to give up being a caterpillar to become a butterfly!

Breaking Dawn

I cannot wait for this book to come out. I'll be first in line at the movie too!

This guy is crazy!

Beverly's going away party!

Today Derek threw a birthday party for Beverly. She is leaving for Cincinnati for 3 weeks, and he wanted to visit with her and have some fun before she left. We all just hung out in the pool and had a really nice time. We would have stayed out there all day, but the pool guy came and that was that!

Mouse

So today I was sitting in my office talking to my business partner on the phone about how I had called the Orkin man today about seeing a mouse in our back yard. I told him that I think it likes to eat the oranges in our trees. Just as I mentioned the orange tree I looked up and saw this looking at me.
I about fell out of my chair. I grabbed my camera and this mouse was just staring at me. It was soooooooooooooooooooooo funny. I'm glad the Orkin man is coming tomorrow. Poor little guy. I hope he finds a new home fast!

Unintentional Colby Family Reunion

This was a crazy but very blessed 2 days...

This was a day which began pretty much just like any other. There were only two differences. 1.My mother had been staying at my house for a few days to take care of her mother who was in the hospital. 2. I decided to cook a huge pot roast in the morning in a crock pot. (Something I never do, there are just 2 of us). The rest was right on track to be the same as usual. This was until...
Around noon I got a call from my dad asking if he could come down with my brother Bryan's kids (McKinnley 4 & Weston 18 months). He was watching them in Prescott while Bryan, his wife and their new born son Trenton were out car shopping in Scottsdale. My dad wanted to go to the zoo, but I convinced him to have the kids go swimming instead.
After we went swimming we played with Weston in the back yard. He is a boy, is a boy, is a boy... Derek couldn't get enough of him. It was the sweetest thing. For lunch we cooked a pizza and Derek taught McKinnley how to play Tiger Woods Golf. She was actually pretty good. Her concentration was pretty amazing to watch. Derek couldn't believe it. He was a proud uncle to say the least.

To keep the kids busy we decided to take them to the Scottsdale Railroad Park to ride the trian, carousel & play on the jungle gyms. It was so much fun, and the kids had a blast.

They were so good. They weren't even tired on the car ride home. It was fun sitting in the back with them. Weston is so chill, and McKinnley just talks and talks and talks. She is at that age where she asked 100's a questions a minute. I loved it.

So right before we left the rail road park my brother Bryan called and asked if they could all spend the night at our house, because they found the car they wanted and the banks were closed. I was excited, but hoped that I had enough of everything like food, blankets, room, patience... you know the essentials of unexpected entertaining. Well, let's just say that for some reason (God certainly had a hand in this) we had plenty of food (pot roast), blankets, room, and patience to go around. It was a great time filled with love, and I will never forget it. Derek was a perfect host and helped out with everything (mostly taking care of his new buddy Weston). I couldn't have imagined a better time. I just really wish that I would have taken a picture of my newborn nephew Trenton. I didn't even get to hold him. Oh well. All in due time.
By the way... for those of you who were wondering... YES, we still want kids. More than ever:)

Bangs?

My hair has been the same more or less for the last 12 years. (Except for the time when I cut it all off to start over, big mistake!) Since about my sophmore year in high school I have had strait, plain, blonde hair. Sometimes I would sneek some layers into it, but for the most part I had what I love to call "pony tail" hair. You know... the easy hair do where if all else fails a pony tail is the go to option. Well, I think I am going to go out on a limb and cut bangs! I know that it may not be a big deal to anyone else, but it is for me. Seriously. I may cry if I do it, but I am going for it. Since I've been on these prenatal vitamins, my hair has been growing faster. I am feeling like the recovery time for a could be disaster won't be so bad. Here is a picture with my friend Emily. I think I am going to get those bangs, or a version of them. My hair appointment is this Wednesday, so we will see if I chicken out or not:)
