Cruise Photos

This was when we first boarded the boat. We went up to the top deck to leave port from LA.
This is classic happy Rachel face. Anytime I show the lower teeth... it's on!

A beautiful light house right outsie of Port of Los Angeles.

This was the central part of the ship where you could look down on the band. Or ship had 12 levels. This was from the 6th level looking down onto the 4th.

They were making drinks in these fun pineapples out by the pool. I didn't have one, but I had to take a picture. They were playing great Jamacian music too. It was a blast.

This is a picture in Boleros. I wanted to take a picture of the place I learned how to Salsa dance. (I wasn't meant to Salsa if you catch my drift, but it's fun anyway.)
I didn't get off of the boat when we ported in San Diego. I've been there enough times, so I just enjoyed the boat. It was so relaxing.
This was on Catalina Island. It is the Wrigley Memorial. We walked up a long dirt path and a couple hundred stips to get there. The views were beautiful
We celebrated birthdays for 3 of the 13 Numbered ladies here. It was expensive, but the food was amazing. Beverly, Joan and Linda all got cards and we passed them around the table. Some were so funny... especially Nancy's b*%@& -slap card.
Here are us girls hanging out on the 11 deck right above the pools leaving San Diego. Beverly went to Coronado Island and Seaport Village. Nancy had lunch with her kiddos and grandchildren in Seaport Village and Joan went Kyaking? We all just split up and did our own thing. It was perfect.
They had a crazy chocolate extravaganza the 3rd night. I was going to eat some, but watching the people walk away with plates literally stacked sky high full of cholocates made me sick to my stomach. I loved the set up though. There were chololate fountains, cakes, candies, bon bons, everything that you or Willy Wonka could have imagined.
This dragon was my favorite part. The chololate, fruit and vegetable sculputres were so cool.
Perspective... This is a picture of our boat with a ferry that carries 600 people docked up to it. Crazy.
Here is a dancer in La Bufadora. His job is to make money by entertaining the tourists. Smart.
Tropical fish off of Catalina Island.
This is the Blow Hole in La Bufadora. it was pretty cool. Some people almost got arrested for climing up on the rocks. Some people have no respect contries like Mexico. They were lucky that the officer was used to idiot tourists.

Our view of Ensanada, Mexico. We took a bus about 50 minutes away to La Buffadora to see the blow hole and shop. Our tour guide Renee was great. She was funny and told us about the politics in Mexico. It was very educational. Totally wirth the $29. They dropped us off in the shopping district of Ensanada on our way back to shop some more. It was a blast. We had to make sure that we got Nancy out of the stores and into the taxi to get back to the boat on time. She marches to the beat of her own drum and I love her for it.

This is on our first dinner night. They had amazing food and a menu that changed daily. We each had 3 coarse meals and I personally gained 5 pounds. I certainly ate and ate and ate:)
This is me posing and being the fabulous dork that I have always been.

Beverly and I on Catalina Island. The air was really wet and a bit chilly. It was like a mist was in the air. It didn't lift until noon.
We did the golf cart tour. I drove and we cruised all around Catalina Island. The houses were so neat. Some were even pink. You can tell that the natives leave the island for high tourist season. Beverly was my navigator then behind her is Monica (she kept us all in line, and made sure I kept my eyes on the road), and Nancy who made phone calls when the other carts in our group took the wrong turn... come to find out we were the ones who were wrong:)
Catalina Island had beautiful flowers and trees.
La Bufadora.
This was at dinner the last night. I bought those matching earings and necklace in Ensanada. It was fun to barter. You have to say bajale (of coarse I don't know how to spell it) and they would know you wanted a lowere price.
Derek gave me $10 in quarters for the casino. I think I put about $2 in the $.02 slot machine and the 2nd time I made a bet it was a max bet of 90 credits ($1.80) I landed on the 2 7's and that wild thing in the middle. I went from 100 credits to 6010! It was a blast. Right after I cashed out I decided to do one more max bet and won over 2000 more credits. I played it out and lost all of it, but held onto the $120 I made earlier.
This was at the Wrigley Memorial. The doors were so beautiful.
Beverly and I inside the Wrigley Memorial.
Picture of me on Catalina Island with the Marina in the background.
Nancy, me and Beverly taking a short break from shopping in La Bufadora. Aren't we colorful!
Beverly and I taking a picture while leaving Ensanada, Mexico.
This cruise was the most wonderful vacation I have been on by far. I'm still relaxed, and I've been home for almost 2 weeks. Beverly treated me to the cruise that went from LA to San Diego to Catalina Island, to Ensanada, Mexico then back to LA. It was 5 days of girls doing whatever we wanted to do. No phones, computers, stress, men, kids, etc. I got to go with the numbered ladies (13 of Beverly's friends who are some of the most wonderful ladies to know). Beverly is #3 and I was assigned #3a. I was Beverly's guest. The numbers are a huge privilege that have to be earned. Thank you Beverly for the everything and I love you very much. You are the most amazing mother-in-law. :)

Cruise

Going on a cruise tomorrow! I'm so excited. We will be on the Royal Caribbean going to LA, San Diego, Catalina Island and Ensanada Mexico. I'll post pics soon!

Michael Winslow

http://
I went to the Tempe Improv Thursday and saw Michael Winslow. Here is a clip of him doing a Jimmy Hendrix impersonation. He is hilarious. What a talent!

4th of July

The 4th of July was great this year. Derek and Ron(D's dad) were both in Orange County, CA coaching a tournament, so Beverly (D's mom) and I got to hang at her house. It was Bev's birthday too, so it was 2x's the fun. We watched about 10 firework shows from their back yard. You can see most of the valley from there. We also went through some fun stuff that Bev had in storage. There were so many great memories that I got to learn about. I even saw the cutest picture of D as a baby. It was a great night that I will always remember.

My 28th Birthday

I woke up to this on our kitchen counter. Derek got me some of my favorite things. Yes... celebrity magazines are a huge addiction of mine. I am such a lucky girl!

We went to lunch at Stingray for sushi and my favorite iced green tea. It was so much fun. Derek had a tournament to coach for the Firebirds, so I got to spend the evening alone. It was nice to reflect on this last year. I truely feel "One year older and wiser too!"
